This is my last day at my "day" job and I was taking some time to reflect on what that means or will mean in the immediate future.

On the positive side I will be able to do more crafting, which I love. I have a new shop displaying my items with more consistent hours and that means I am gaining and not losing as I give up my current job and display opportunities.

On the down side I will not be physically present to hear the comments that customers make or to take requests which has been a large moving force in the direction and increase of my business.

The "business" of crafting is exhausting and sometimes painful and it pays to take some time and revisit why you make it a business in the first place. For me I know I have two main reasons. One selfish and one...less selfish. Someday I am going to get the call that we've been matched with our child and the adoption will be a whirlwind of inexpressible things. I will know then that what I have saved for my future daughter through my business was worth it. Until that future day, however, I am just glad that someone likes what I do enough to allow me to keep doing it without filling my house up with sheep and pigs and penguins and ladybugs.
